Complete

It’s been ages since I last updated, so I’ll try to round out this story clearly. The map is now complete and there are two days until we’ll be in the gallery mounting it onto two 5 x 10’ boards for the show. The last few months have been full of new and nerve-wrecking activities in preparation. I’ve somehow come to appreciate these moments. Dealing with such a large work has proven to be quite a challenge but I’ve learned a lot and will be ready to create the remaining four boroughs.

The digital version of the map is being constructed and will replace this blog soon on 71squaremiles.com. It’s been a little crazy to see all four panels together digitally. I’m incredibly excited about this aspect of the project as I hope it reaches many people. My brother has written the code for the map. I’m a very lucky little sister. Sibling cartography team!

The show announcements have been circulating and it’s been quite surreal. The reception will be February 25, at BRIC in Ft. Greene. 7-9pm

I’ll post more process photos as things begin to settle in the coming weeks.

See you soon.
